Half an hour later, the living room looked exactly the way it always did.
The sofa cushions were back in their proper places. The crumpled chips packet had disappeared. The scattered crumbs had been wiped away so thoroughly that the marble shone faintly under the warm ceiling light. Even the faint salty smell of wafers had vanished.
