The day before the Annual Youth Festival arrived in a blur of rehearsals, costumes and last-minute preparations.
By morning, the auditorium had been transformed completely. Costumes hung from temporary racks backstage, props were scattered along the wings, volunteers hurried between the stage and the green room, and the final lighting arrangements cast flashes of white and gold across the empty rows of seats.
